DURACELL-NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIP Purpose: To assist and encourage outstanding minority students who are interested in completing their college education in the areas of engineering, marketing, manufacturing, finance, business, human resource, etc. Eligibility: Eligible to apply are minority students who are pursuing full-time studies leading to a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution of higher learning. They must be juniors or third year students at the time the scholarship award begins, rank with the top 25 percent of their class when the application is submitted, and be majoring in areas of engineering, marketing, manufacturing, finance, business, or human resources. Other requirements include work experience in related field(s), extracurricular activities, leadership skills, and volunteer work. AICPA SCHOLARSHIP FOR MINORITY STUDENTS IN BUSINESS Purpose: To provide financial assistance to minority undergraduate or graduate students interested in business careers. Eligibility: In order to apply, students must be members of a racial minority group and be enrolled in a 5-year accounting, business administration, finance, or taxation program. Minority college graduates who majored in accounting are also eligible to apply. Recipients must be either U.S. citizens or have permanent resident visa status. Preference is given to students enrolled in historically black colleges and universities. Award Amount: The maximum stipend granted under this program is $2000 per academic year. Duration: Up to 1 year; reapplication is permitted. Limitations: Applications must be signed by the student’s financial aid advisor. Number Awarded: 500 or more each year. CATCHING THE DREAM TRIBAL BUSINESS MAGAGEMENT (TBM) PROGRAM Purpose: To help improve the quality of life in Indian communities through higher education. Eligibility: For students in business, finance, management, economics, banking, hotel management, and related fields who plan to work in economic development for tribes. Students must be 1/4 or more degree American Indian, and be an enrolled member of a U. S. tribe. "U. S. tribe" is defined as federally recognized, state recognized, or terminated tribe. Students must be attending or planning on attending a college or university within the U. S. on a full-time basis that is fully accredited. Study must be at the college level, and can range from bachelor's degrees to postdoctoral study. Applicants must have excellent grades, high ACT or SAT scores, some work experience, a track record of leadership, and a strong commitment to their Indian community. Students applying to any of these three programs are required to apply for all other sources of funds, write a comprehensive essay about themselves and their plans, and provide proof of high school completion, college admission, and tribal enrollment. "All other sources" includes federal financial aid, tribal scholarships, private scholarships, loans, and grants. The search for scholarships must be exhaustive, using the Internet, printed scholarship directories, and identification of scholarships in the student's local community. Award Amount: Scholarships range from $500-$5000 per academic year Duration: Considered “lifetime” awards, but applicants must return a Scholarship Renewal Form each year to continue to receive funding.
